What does living generously mean?
Our seniors will not be marginalized.
In Greater Vancouver our seniors population will double in the next 10 years. Already, our community struggles to provide programs and services to help our elders retain their independence and dignity, and their basic needs. When you live generously and give through Combined Jewish Appeal, you support home visits for shut-ins and programs like LChaim Day Care Centre and Wheels to Kosher Meals, ^fbu do a world of good, one senior at a time.
Save time by making your gift to Combined Jewisli Appeal on-line. Simply visit www.Jfgv.com/cja

First explosion since the Gaza withdrawals hits.
EDGAR ASHER ISRANET NEWS & MEDIA
D
eath, injury and destruction once again became a feature of everyday Israeli life when a suicide bomber detonated an explosive charge beside a falafel stand in an open air market on Thursday, Oct. 27, in the centre of the coastal town of Hadera, which is located about midway between Tel-Aviv and Haifa.
Tlie terror attack, which killed five Israelis and injured 50 more, including six seriously, was the first lethal suicide bombing inside Israel since before the Gaza disengagement three months ago. Within a short time of tlie explosion. Islamic Jihad was claiming responsibility, saying that this was a revenge attack for the killing by tlie Israel Defence Forces of the Islamic Jihad leader in the West Bank, Luay Sa'adi, earlier last month.
A very short time after the bomb blast, the dead and injured were quickly taken from the scene of the devastation and the cleaning-up operation began. Only a few hours later, there was little to see of tlie destruction and human carnage.
Within days of Israel completely leaving Gaza, there have been many attempts to plant bombs in
Israel by Palestinian extremists. There have also been many firings of rockets from northern Gaza on Israeli towns and settlements near the border. Tlie political eclielon in Israel has once again pointed a finger at the Palestinian Autliority, saying tliat tliey are still doing little or nothing to stop armed militants from taking control in Gaza and encouraging terror attacks in Israel
