KELOWNA - Lil Feld-berg was elected president Of the Okanagan Jewish Comi munity association at its annual general meeting held June 10.
Some 25 association members, i-epresenting about 40 families, also elected: vice-president, Gloria Golbey; secretary, David Singer; treasurer, B^ob Levin; cOm-municaMons, Steven Finkle-man. Djrectors-at-large are EvanjOilpff and Ron Golc^
The meeting heard announcement, that the association ' has been given a donation as V the first step towards a building fundfor the growing needs of'. the community. Reports from the treasurer and religious: and. social committees were heard, as well as a message from outgoing president Tom Hiller. ^
The association's annual picnic and baseball game takes place Sunday, July: 15, II a.m. at Gyro Beach park (near the baseball diamond), open to members and all interested visitors.
The group has also planned a picnic for August, High Holiday services, and a Succot celebration.

. Havurot Sim Shalom, which began as an outreach program of B*nai B'rith Hillel Foundation at JU BC five years ago, moved into its first home last April.
The Havurah, which holds Shabbat services twice monthly open to allinterested persons, is now located at 1053 Douglas crescent (near 19t h and Oak).
Organizers noted that Rabbi Daniel and Hanna Sie-gel have provided and. sustained the spiritual leadership of the group since its ihception. "Based upon the ^traditions of Judaisnv, this Havurah provides an environment in which to daven, to explore beliefs, share knowledge and create an egalitarian, cooperative community", officials said.
The move to new facilities was necessitated when the Havurah grew and became too large a minyan for space in private homes. The first floor of the new home is being rented collectively by the Havurat and three individuals.
