Deportation may take many months
OTTAWA — Hearings must sti!! be held and officials here said no decision has been made as to where convicted Palestinian terrorist Issa Mohammad will be sent if he is deported from Canada.
"It may take many months before his avenues of appeal are all exhausted/' Bouchard said. He added, "Unfortunately, we missed him at the border."
Mohammad, meanwhile, went on TV to say he "regretted violence" and was not aware that the Israeli man was still on the El Al jetliner when he bombed it in Athens. He revealed in interviews with GBG-TV.and the Golbe and Mail that helied to Canadian immigration officersabouthis terrorist past to give his wife and children an opportunity to escape violence for a better life in Canada.
Earlier, Canadian Jewish Congress President Dorothy Reitman, in a telegram to Benoit Bouchard, Minister of Employment and Immigration, expressed shock "that, if press reports are accurate,. Mahmoud Muhammad Issa Mohammad, convicted by Greek criminal court of willful manslaughter, interfering with air traffic, arson^ destruction of an El Al aircraft, illegal use of firearms and possession of explosives, has been admitted to Canada.
"The presence of this person in our country is offensive to all Canadians, and he should be deported without r delay," Reitman declared, jta
Reichmann British workers to 'observe' Shabbos and holidays
LONDON
Canada's
Reichmanns have come to Englandjvith a flourish._
According to the London Jewish Chronicle, construction workers employed here by the Canadian Orthodox property developers who are behind the 3 billion Pou.nd sterling Canary Wharf project in London's Docklands will have to observe the Jewish working week and holidays.
The Reioiimann brothers — Albert, Paul and Ralph — senior executives in the Toronto-based private company, Olympia and . Yorks Developments Ltd., have stipulated in their employees' contracts that all work at the site is forbidden between "one hour before sunset on Friday and one hour after sundown on Saturday."
The Chronicle reported that the deal, accepted by the building trade unions, will give workers 13 Jewish holidays as well as Xmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Dayi But they will have to work on some other Bank holidays. The agreement will
give the workers an extra five -days off.
David Massel, executive director of the British Board of Deputies; told the Uondpn-based newspaper: "This sort of thing has gone on for many years in traditional Jewish trades, such as garment-making and in the furniture industry. But I have not come across anything before that has been tied into the contract and has got full union backing. It is a good thing for relations between Jews and non-Jews."
Meanwhile in Canada, the Reichmann family company has filed a third libel notice over a magazine article about their emergence as eminent private developers.
The Toronto Globe and Mail and four employees were served with notice of suit over a Dec. 11 article discussing two previous suits filed by the brothers against Toronto Life magazine and Toronto Sun newspaper.
The three libel suits are now pending.

In 1985; Zundel was found guilty of "spreading false news" for the purpose of inciting racial and religious hatred.

PAINT WAR IN VANCOUVER occurred at 1301 Commercial drive recently when side of building was smeared with anti-Zionism slogan (top photo at left): "Zionism is Racism. Sanctions now." Swift response occurred next day when someone using same colour of paint changed the message to read: "Stop anti-Semitism and Racism, Action Now," (top right). But empty building at Hastings and Clark drive has many posters and scrawis including obviously anti-Israel message: "Jail the Real Terrorists," which to date remains unanswered. * - _
