Mmmmmmmm. When JCC Staff wanted to "hold its annual appreciation night for volunteers, it recently hosted a salmon barbecue for over 70 from its dedicated volunteer corps.'. . These are the people who've helped to make the Centre a warm and welcoming place during the past year, working in numerous capacities in such areas as Shalom Pre-school, Shabbat dinners, special events and on program committees . . . Volunteer coordinator Gisi Levitt has info on volunteering — 266-9111.
A triple play . . . It's triple-powered naches for Dr. Terry and Carole Kline off to Toronto to see their three children graduate from the campus of York university . . . Son Ronnie will receive an honors B.A. in sociology while two daughters have completed degrees at Osgoode Law School (affiliated with York) — Sandy will receive her LLB (Bachelor of Law) and Marli her LLM (Master of Law). . . Mazehov, MazeU toy, Mazeltov!
So what have Victoria, Powell River (?!) aind Seattle got that Vancouver hasn't? Apparently enough people willing to billet the 40-42 people travelling with the Efroni Youth Choir from Irael's Emek Hefer region — and enough people to come out to hear the youth in performance . . How come Powell River, Victoria and Seattle will produce both hosts and an audience, but Vancouver can't? (Luzar never got any requests for an item in this comer seeking out willing hosts) . . . Nu, maleh? The Victoria community, for instance, is hosting the whole gang for two nights and' mounting a concert at Emanuel synagogue Monday, July 11 . . . Do you think that, for example, a JCC Sunday afternoon or evening featuring the young Israelis would not, have drawn a respectable audience? Enquiries locally have unearthed only that billeting seemed like it might be a problem and that

there was concern to be able to get a crowd ^t that time . Pity.
We may have been bypassed as a venue for the Precious Legacy but the world class exhibit Danzig 1939: Treasures of a Destroyed Community is opening Dec. 15 at our own Vancouver Museum for three months. . exhibition created and [ \^ ijj circulated WOLFE by the Jewish Museum of New York . . It features 130 priceless objects of Judaic religious art and artifacts from Danzig. . . We hear the Vancouver Museum is also planning a number of special programs oh aspects of Jewish culture during the exhibit. But right now, survivors of Danzig are being sought . . People who once lived in Danzig (today it's Gedansk,
Poland) are being asked to contact Harriett Wolfe or Rob Watt, director of the Vancouver Museum, at 736-4431.
Recently appointed a trustee of the Vancouver Museum,-Harriett Wolfe has had along association with the institution ... But how Wolfe happened on the marvellous Danzig 1939 exhibit is interesting . . . It seems her daughter S. Dana Wolfe, while taking her Master*s in international relations at NYU, had a roommate who was assistant to the Jewish Museum's curator. . And that's how the connection was made which eventually led to Vancouver becoming a host city for this outstanding traveling exhibition.
Oy, have we got a Canada Day Bulletin for you next week! Interviews with a few localites who-ve made a wider mark on the Canadian scene . . New books of Jewish Canadiana . . . Plus lots more . . .Zoll zein gezunt. . . Good Shabbos to one and all — ShavuaTov, Kinderlach!

Daughters and their aging parents subject of series
How does a mid-life woman deal with the increasing demands of aging parents, some of whom have failing health? Why are women in our culture the major care-givers to parents in their twilight
- These and other questions • were addressed at the first of a four-part series mounted recently by the Jewish Family Service Agency.
Leading the group was-Clarissa Green, ah associate professor of nursing at UBC, spe^ cializing in family dynamics and women's health.
The series 6f lectures entitled Mid-Life Daughters and Aging Mothers, was conceived by Greeii several years ago and thousands of daughters have since taken part in the groups she has been giving throughout the province for the last three and a half years.
Gathering in Temple Sho-lom's chapel, a group of nine women met to discuss problems associated with aging parents. The first week was an introduction to the course and participants' backgrounds. The second week deah with" key issues between adult children and aging parents.
And the third and fourth week will deal with practical problem solving.
For those unable to attend the current sessions, there is a possibility of another course being held in the fall.

Robot plans 'stolen'
JERUSALEM — A small Israeli robotics company filed a $2.5 million suit against Sol-coor, an Amierican firm, and two of its former employees, for stealing company secrets.
Sivan 21st Century,,which specializes in remote controlled robots for bomb-disposal, accused Solcoor of persuading two of its workers
to leave their jobs and work for the OAO Corp., a Maryland engineering firm, according to The Jerusalem Post.
Sivan's lawyers said Amir Haramati and Gad Aviran took classified plans for robots when they joined the American firm. Within nine months, said the petition, OAO had manufactured virtually the same robot Sivan took three years to build.
