paper clippings and documents, the city's Jewish_ community from the late 13th Century to the present.
Highlights include portrayals of the medieval Jewish Quarter, the Rothschild family, documentation of Austria's role in the Holocaust, and Vienna's Jewish community after theSecond World War:
The work of renowned Viennese Jews, including Martin Buber, Sigmund Freud, Theodore Herzl, Gustav Mahler and Billy Wilder, will also be examined. :
"The exhibition is [an] effort to take an energetic stand against reappearihg anti-Semitic and neo-Nazi tendencies in Austria," organizers said.
"Heritage and Mission," which runs to Sept. 4, is sponsored by Jewish Festival of the Arts Society, The Jewish Welcome Service Vienna, and the JCC. A festive opening is planned for Aug. 24. ,-
