Historically, over 2,000 participants descend on the capital's city to liaise with parliamentarians and political and media elites in the single most important assembly of Canadian Jewry' in support of Canada-Israel relations, said Pekarsky.
The event offers the community an opportunity to meet with its political' representatives, he said. In addition, it provides the political community with an opportunity to experience the broad suppiort Israel enjoys in Canada.

TORONTO — Due to a $10,000 budget cut, Toronto's Jewish Family arid Child Service has been forced to eliminate honoraria to the two rabbis serv^ ing as chaplains at the Toronto Hospital and Riv-erdale and Sunnybrook hospitals.
The reception and dinner will be preceded by Middle East policy statements from the goverhn^ent as well as opposition parties. A ques-tiph and answer period will fbllpw each presentation.
Pekarsky called upon.all members of the pro-Israel community from coast-to-coast to demonstrate their splidarity with Israel by participating in this event.

The itinerary has been developed. in conjunction with; Yom HaShoah commemorative ceremonies, sponsored and organized by the Israeli and Polish governments.
Places to bfe visited include Warsaw, Cracow, Auschwitz-Birkenau, Tel AviVi Jaffa, Jerusalem, Ntevasseret Zibn, Beer-sheba, Ein Gedi, the Galilee, Jordan and Beit She'an Valleys, Golan Heights and Tiberias.
The trip is geared for adults and is riot suitable for pre-teens, emphasized Nathan Leipciger, chair of the CJC's National Holocaust Remembrance Committee.

A favorite Israeli story recounts how a boy visiting Israel forTiis Bar-Mitzvah took a trip Wa forest and started to examine some nearbv trees. ^
Not finding What he was looking for, he marched up to a forest rianger and said, "I'm from Canada, and I've been; sending money for trees ever since 1 started Hebrew school. Where can I find my trees?"
The ranger, suppressing a smile, explained that, thanks to sudh generous donations, the Jewish National Fund plants thousands of trees every year.
" But we don't put narne-plates on individ ual trees," he continued, "because every tree in Israel belongs to all who live in or visit Israel"
To continue the develop-
ment and planting of new forests, JNF will hold its sixth annual Tu B'Shvat Tree-A-Thon on Sunday, --Jan. 31.
"This will truly help to enhance the quality of life for ail those who visit or live near the JNF of Canada B.C. Forest, which was dedicated during the JNF 90th anniversary tour to Israel," Tree-A-Thon chairman Sara Ciacci told TTit* Bulletin.
