"Dreams and Treasures" will be theme of the fourth annual community-wide Or Shalom retreat May 20-23.
The event, being held at the North Vancouver Out-door School at Brackendale, will offer a "full range of activities for all ages in a relaxed atmosphere," according to co-organizer Richard; Wolak.
Andrew Jordan co-chairs the event. Fran Ritch is registrar.
An early registration deadline has been set for May 1, Wolak said, with "substantially higher fees" after that date.

Various community members will share their own "dreams and treasures" as they chair sessions on theatre sports, arts, drama and host various study groups.
Nature walks, hikes, sports and community singing are also on the agenda, as are a festive Malave Malke and a talent show.

Israeli criminologist Ronit Lev Ari will address the issue of domestic violence from an Israeli perspective.
Lev Ari's talk, sponsored by Na'amat Galim and Jewish Family Service Agency, will be held at the Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver on Tuesday, April 26 at 7:30 p.m.
Director of the Na'amat Centre for the Prevention of Domestic Violence, Lev Ari was the first to conduct research in Israel on battered women. She holds a master's degree in criminology.
She was responsible for the establishment of the first Na'amat Centre for Domestic Violence and within six years, centres were also opened in Jerusalem, Haifa and Beer Sheva.
Victims of domestic violence turn to these centres for counselling and assistance through Na'amat's Legal Aid Bureau.
The centres have aided over 4,000 victims, receiving about 25 calls a day. Two or three of those calls are from new immigrant families, Na'amat Centre officials reported.

Seniors learn about South Africa
VICTORIA — Congregation Emanu-El's senior's group, Chaverim, will hear a slice of life from former South Africa resident Manfred Hermer.
On Wednesday, April 27, Hermer will speak on two topics: "A Jewish Architect's Adventure in the Middle East" will reflect Her-mer's invitation to visit
Syria.
In the second part of the program, Hermer will talk about his book The Passing of Pageview. The book recounts the enforced relocation of South Africa's Indian community for apartheid reasons.
Hermer, an architect, and his wife Lesley immigrated to Canada a few years ago.
