Mr. Bak was born in New York City but raised in Baltimore, Maryland, where his father served as rabbi. He received his, bachelor's degree in English literature at Yeshiva university and pursued his Jewish studies in the Rabbinibal College. . In 1966 Mr. B£ik accepted the position of Hebrew School principal in Congregation Beth Israel, Berkeley, Calif., serving also as youth ctirector and coordinator of Yeshiva University Torah Leadership Seminars on the west coast. Mr. Bak became principal of Vancouver Talmud Torah in 1968. Since coming to Vancouver he has also contined his education, doing advanced graduate work in the faculty of education at U.B.C.
