By DVORA WAYSMAN -On the corner of Jerusalem's HaPaimach Street, just a block from the President's residence, stands a stately five-storey building of mellow Jerusalem stone. A plaque — in Hebrew, Arabic and English announces it to the L.A. Mayer Institute for Islamic Art. The museuni, filled with priceless treasures from the Arab world, holds a few surprises. The museum contains more than 4,000 works of art in three separate collections, dating from 700 CE, and they include exhibits from Iraii, Turkey, India, Egypt, Syria and Iraq.
