Playhouse Saunches Singles program By GAKY POGROW "Meet Another Theatre Lover," a new program initiated by the Vancouver Playhouse, for Singles, will run one Tuesday evening during the run of each the six plays of the Playhouse's 1989-90' season. The program will take the form of a special reception prior to the performance so that singles can meet each other. The reception, which will be held in the lower lobby of the Playhouse from 6:30-7:30 p.m., will be co-hosted by Ara Parker and Dave Davis, a former editor of the publications US and Coast Connections. Davis is cur- rently compiling a guidebook for singles in Vancouver. The Little China Restaurant will cater complimentary horsd'oeuvres. 'Music in the Mornings' starts new season One of the first musical events in the new season is the opening concert of Music in the Mornings, coming Wednesday and Thursday (Sept. 20, 21) at the Vancouver Academy of Music. For the fifth season of this most popular season, artistic director June Goldsmith has come up with eight concerts that will feature many local musicians in a varied program. And, although the season as a whole is less inspiring than the previous one, there are still quite a few gems to be considered seriously. The idea of Music in; the Mornings is Ho attend a concert when the mind is still fresh and able to absorb music at its best.
