Bundles are being sent by B.C. Airlines, Pacific Western Airlines and Northland Navigation to all B.C. fishing ports and camps within reach of these services. These points, from which fishermen on the grounds are asked to pick them up, include Powell River, Campbell River, Port Hardy, Alert Bay, Sointula, Bull Harbor, Namu, Bella Bella, Bella Coola, Ocean Falls, Klemtu, Victoria, Na-naimo, Ucluelet and Tofino. Bundles are also being sent to Rivers and Smith camps.
Other bundles are going to UFAWU northern offices in Prince Rupert and to the UFAWU office in Steveston for distribution in fish plants.
Copies will be available in Vancouver at Campbell Avenue False Creek docks; and at ew Westminster and Ladner oats.
To keep down the cost of these emergency arrangements, this issue has been held to ight pages.
No copies of this issue will be mailed to subscribers at the conclusion of the strike, since the accumulation of mail during even a short strike can be expected to delay delivery of second class mail beyond the date of our next issue, August 2. Subscribers in the Greater Vancouver area, however, can pick up copies at the offices of The Fisherman or the UFAWU in Fishermen's Hall, 138 East Cordova Street, and in the Prince Rupert area at UFAWU offices in Fishermen's Hall, 869 Fraser Street.
Copies of this issue to libraries, government departments and others requiring them for reference purposes and to overseas subscribers will be mailed when the strike is settled.

CATCH
gillnetters averaged 174 sockeye and in the upper Knight section 15 gillnetters averaged six sock-eye, 67 pinks and 40 chums on the same date.
Wright Sound, Lewis Passage and Squally Channel section of Area 5 saw averages of 27 sock-eye, 46 pinks and 33 chums brought in by 20 gillnetters on July 17 while 18 seiners averaged 32 sockeye, 1,133 pinks and 72 chums.
Area 6 had 13 gillnetters averaging 51 sockeye, 37 pinks and 26 chums in Higgins Passage on July 17 and six gillnetters in Kitasu Bay section netted 41 sockeye, 32 pinks and 68 chums.
In Area 27, northern Vancouver Island, six gillnetters were reported averaging 94 sockeye, 11 pinks and one chum on July 17.
District 1 on July 15 saw an estimated fleet of 415 gillnetters record a total catch of 4,000 sockeye. On July 16 a total of 1,900 sockeye were reported taken in the same area.
NORTHERN OPENINGS
Salmon net fishing was slated to reopen from 6 p.m. July 19 to 6 p.m. July 23 in Area 4 and Areas 3X and 3Y. Fishermen in these areas got two 12 hour extensions for three days fishing this week.
In Area 8 there will be a four day opening from 6 p.m. July 21 to 6 p.m. July 25. Bella Coola gillnet area reopens at 6 p.m. July 21 with a 10 mile boundary in effect. Dean Channel gillnet area remains closed.
A two day fishing week from 6 p.m. Sunday to 6 p.m. Tuesday went into effect July 14 in the Zayas Island special area. In the Browning Entrance corridor there will be four days' fishing from 6 p.m. Sunday to C p.m. Thursday between July 14 and July 28 and two days' fishing will be permitted from July 28 to August 4.
In Smith Inlet, the main Ripon Point - Oblong Island boundary has been withdrawn to the mouth of Quascilla Creek, effective 6 p.m. July 16.
Net fishing in Juan de Fuca Strait is scheduled to open for both gillnets and seines on August 11.
