ATTENTION
TO: ALL MARINERS, FISHERMEN, CASH BUYERS AND OTHERS ASSOCIATED WITH THE FRASER RIVER ESTUARY:
In response to concerns regarding vessel safety at the entrance of Steveston Harbour, the Harbour Master directs that:
Commencing forthwith, no vessel shall anchor or moor in or near the entrance to Steveston Harbour. Commencing July 1, 1997 until October 31, 1997, all vessels wishing to anchor or moor alongside a vessel at anchor shall do so:
A: On the north side of Steveston Island upriver of Line "A" below joining a point commencing: Latitutde 49° 7' 24"N, Longitude 123° 10' 48" W with a point Latitude 49° 7' 17" N, Longitude 123° 10' 51" W.
OR
B: On the south side of Steveston Island out of the navigable channel upriver of Line "B" below joining a point commencing Latitude 49° 7' 26" N, Longitude 123° 11' 29" W with a point Latitude 49° 7' 18" N, Longitude 123° 111 37" W
Vessels moored or anchored in the designated areas must not raft more than three vessels wide for either the purpose of moorage or transferring of fish or other cargo.
When mooring or anchoring in these areas, vessels are required to move as far off the navigable channel as is safe and practical. Vessel Masters are responsible for ensuring that their vessels are anchored in sufficient water to ensure safety at all stages of the tide and in all weather conditions.
Vessels occupying these moorages or anchorages must display the appropriate day and night signals.
For ease of reference only as to the location of permitted anchoring or mooring, see the attached sketch.
The above notice is taken under the Fraser River Harbour Commission By-Law Section 47. Owners and/or Mariners whose vessels contravene this Notice may be subject to charges under the By-Laws and upon conviction to the penalties prescribed by the penalty provision of the Fraser River Harbour Commission By-Laws. • Many of our clients have certified skills and have access to further re-training
• Temporary Labour r Pool counsellors profile clients, check all references, apply appropriate testing of skills and are capable of sending employers a carefully considered selection of clients.
