Consumers' Co-op Store Opened At Egmont
By DOlTG MORTON
This week Egmont is in the limelight; on May 10 the residents of Egmont opened their Consumers' Co-op store. The inside of the store is nicely painted and looks lovely, so does the young lady behind the counter (but not painted). She is Mrs. Page, wife of the new Co-op campman, George Page. Between them I know they will make a success of the business.
The rest is up to the fisherman and residents to support this coop as much as possible. M r. Harry "West, field man for the wholesale co - op, was there to get the store started in the right direction. The boys a.t Egmont have been getting quite a few springs over the past week or or two.

There was a very sad tragedy at Pender Harbor last week when two small boys, Ronnie March and
Rodney Dubois, were drowned while out trout fishing on Bear Lake. One was drowned and the other died from heart failure. They were in an old skiff that swamped and although the b.oya could swim, the water was too cold and they were too far out. Our sympathy goes out to the parents of these boys and I wish something could be done to prevent these accidents.
The people of Pender Harbor are taking up a collection to buy an inhalator which costs only about $40. If it saves only* one life it will be well paid for. Those wishing to make a donation towards this will find a donation sheet at Hassen's store in Pender Harbor.
