Tendermen Get More
Two tendermen who won $600 in wages from Anglo-BC Packing Company in grievance proceedings taken by the United Fishermen and Allied Workers Union have since received an additional $62.
As reported by The Fisherman last week, the Company conceded the men's claim that they had been paid off at Alert Bay, although their contract to pack fish in the Alert Bay area designated any place within easy access of Vancouver as their home port.
The skipper received $330.41 In wages, board allowance and vacation pay and the cook-deckhand $268.82.
The additional $62 is in settlement of a further claim which was still in dispute when the Union made its report last week. It represents two days' wages, board allowance and vacation pay — $34.57 to the skipper and $27.43 to the cook-deckhand — covering the period to the men's return to Vancouver.

Vancouver WA Sets Christmas Bake Sale
By CARRIE IRONSIDE
Vancouver Women's Auxiliary at its November 3 meeting laid plans for the annual bake sale December 18 which will feature home made Christmas cakes and other goodies.
The ladies are presently busy baking in preparation for the popular sale which will take place in the Fishermen's Hall. Watch this paper for time and further details.
We would like to thank all those who so generously donated clothing and household items to the two families at Port Edward who were burned out. The goods are very much appreciated.
We also have a request for clothing from a needy family at Anahim Lake. Anyone wishing to donate is asked to send items to the Vancouver Women's Auxiliary at 138 East Cordova Street.
Please don't forget to register your children for the annual Christmas party on December 20.
The registration form appears on this page and please note: this applies to members of the Vancouver Fishermen's and Shore-workers' locals. Other areas will make their own announcements.

Nanaimo WA Dance Proves Successful
By ALICE BROWN
The Nanaimo Women's Auxiliary held a successful dance last month, replenishing its funds. This "too small" group of hard workers deserves more than a pat on the back for the delicious supper, attractive tables and choice of music, all designed to make guests welcome.
Winner of the $5 prize was Walter Mearns and R. Colman

also went to Edmonton to visit relatives.
Miles Brunelle visited with friends at Slave Lake and Calgary, and returned with a new Oldsmobile.
William Brunelle visited relatives at Kamloops.
Roy Neuman went to visit his mother at Faust, Alberta and remained to work in the oilfields at Lesser Slave Lake.
Leonard Smith and Hector Yeomans went to visit the moose country around Babine Lake, and returned with two moose — one each — as did Sterling Langille and Bob Jones earlier in the hunting season.
Leonard Ermoff also made a trip to Faust, Alberta and returned with a new car.
Don Smith and his wife left by car for Vancouver and during the trip will look into the possibilities of obtaining another boat.
Eddie Daschuk has taken over the management of the beverage room of the Prince Rupert Hotel.
Van Doumont is tripping forth and back to Faust, Alberta, and can't seem to make up his mind where he'd rather be. Wonder why!
took second. Mr. Inman was the winner of the door prize.
Welcome visitors were Olive and Jack McEachren, and Olive did the honors in drawing the winning tickets. Wouldn't it be nice if it were possible to have a sort of "reciprocal arrangement" only in greater numbers, and not just by chance and at the annual convention?
Thanks are extended to those men of the Local who volunteered their services for the occasion.
The WA also extends its thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Jim Martin, who did such efficient service on the door and cloak room respectively.
Those who attended had a good time. Those who didn't—make it a must next time.

Our best wishes for a speedy recovery to William (Pop) Almas who is hospitalised at present after a rush call. We do hear he has some attractive nurses, which always helps.
