Top Troll Delivery Hits 14,200 Pounds
Nanaimo troller Alan Neave, who brought his Storm Prince into Gore Avenue on August 9 with a 14,200 pound trip, topped troll deliveries to Vancouver this week.
Neave, who had been fishing Area 12, had 12,000 pounds of coho, 2,000 pounds of pinks and 200 pounds of springs. He sold to Canadian Fishing Company.
The delivery was one of several good trips reported during the past two weeks.
On August 3, Bert Peterson of Sointula, troller Wesco, sold a trip of 7,000 pounds from Area 12 to Babcock Fisheries. Of the trip, 5,800 pounds was coho and the rest largely pinks.
Four deliveries of 8,000 pounds or more were made on August 6. John McLeod of Nanaimo, troller Dusty 2, sold a trip of 9,300 pounds (8,000 coho, 1,300 pinks) from Areas 11 and 12 to Canadian Fishing Company. Another Nanaimo troller, Rernie Bennett of the Bonnie B No. 1, sold 9,030 pounds, approximately 7,000 pounds of it coho, to Edmunds and Walker.
Conrad Polanski of the North Pacific, also of Nanaimo, sold 8,200 pounds to Edmunds and Walker. His trip too, was mostly coho, almost half of the fish weighing out at 10 pounds or more.
Still another Nanaimo troller, Lome McKinnell of the Sundance 2, had a trip of 7,400 pounds (6,400 coho, 1,000 pinks) from

WEST COAST TRIPS
On August 2, two trollers brought fair trips from the west coast. W. W. Gallagher of Vancouver, troller Ocean Gem, had 463 pounds — 4,200 coho and the est pinks and springs — which he old to Babcock Fisheries.
John Swaluk of Port Alberni, fishing Areas 12 and 27 with his Pride and Joy, had a smaller trip of 3,800 pounds, of which 2,200 pounds was coho. He sold to Seafood Products.
Two other trips sold to Seafood Products on August 2 were delivered by Thor Swensen of North Surrey, troller Janice N, and Len Greaves of Vancouver, troller Clara M. Swensen brought in 4,565 pounds from Area 12, the largest part of which was coho (3,600 pounds) and the rest pinks and springs with a few sockeye. Greaves had 2,300 pounds, almost all of it coho.
On August 3, Oliver Peterson of Vancouver, troller Lor-Dell 2, and 3ordon Evans of Duncan, troller Terry-Diane, sold trips to Babcock Fisheries. Peterson had 4,605 pounds (3,600 coho, 500 pinks) and Evans had 4,500 pounds (3,800 coho, 500 pinks). Both fished Area 12.
Don Rea of New Westminster, troller Oslo, sold a 3,600 pound trip, all but 200 pounds of it coho, to Babcock Fisheries on August 6, and J. Runhart of Nanaimo, troller Miss Janine, sold a 7,000 pound trip (5,800 coho, 1,000 pinks) to Canadian Fishing Company the same day.
A small trip, 3,000 pounds and mostly coho, was sold to Edmunds and Walker by Noll C. Ramsey of Vancouver, troller Salopian, on August 9.
