The executive expressed unqualified support for the efforts of New Democratic MPs to get the federal government "to openly urge the US to accept U Thant's proposals for a settlement" based on immediate cessation of bombing of the North, inclusion of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam at the negotiating table, withdrawal of all foreign troops, a guarantee of self determination for the Vietnamese people and, if necessary, use of a UN emergency force in Vietnam to uphold that guarantee.

Tasmania Limits Lobster Licences
Licence limitation has been imposed in the commercial lobster fishery by the Tasmanian state government in Australia, it is reported, and the limitation will remain in effect until completion
World Fish Meal Output Surveyed
An up to date survey of world fish meal production and trade will be a feature of the second annual convention of the US Fish Meal and Oil Association to be held in Washington, DC, February 20-21.
The conference will hear special reports on the fish meal and oil industries in Peru and Norway and on Soviet fishing operations off the US Atlantic seaboard.
Other topics scheduled to be dealt with include the present and future role of industrial fisheries in the US and current research programs in the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico.
Labor Submission
The BC Federation of Labor will make its annual submission to the provincial cabinet at Victoria this coming Wednesday, February 8, secretary Ray Haynes announced this week.
of a current survey into the lobster industry.
Findings of the survey are expected this spring or early summer and, according to the state government, they will determine future licensing programs.
Representations to the state government in 1965 from the Professional Fishermen's Association demanded a total freezing of spiny lobster pot licences and the Association accepted higher licensing fees in 1967 to help finance research into the state's fisheries.
Despite restrictions previously in effect on the number of pots carried by each boat, recent lobster catches have shown a decline paralleled by an increasing number of boats entering the industry and mounting applications for new licences.
Limitations have not been imposed in other sections of the Tasmanian industry, although closures have been ordered in the scallop and shark fisheries.
