HAMILTON READER PRAISES CJN POLICY
To the Editor.
The best way of exprcssinu satisfaction with THE CAN lADIAN JEWISH NEWS is to buy a subscription to it. It has good coverage of local national and international development;, of consequence to Jews. More power to you.
I am deeply 'satisfied lo se':" that you pointed out th.^ anti-Israel attitude of The Globe and Mail. This has been a long-standing policy of that newspaper and its exposure has been long overdue and should be made even clearer to the Jewish community.
To appear as an aiarmisti is not my intention bvt I have been very carefully observing C.B.C. radio and . television offerings since 1956. It is my: opinion that anyone versed in the subtle methods of mass media propaganda over prolonged time periods can easily detect an anti-Israel pattern in some C.B.C. programs. j
May r again congratulate you I
I on your' wonderful newspaper j —-something that has long been I needed in our community. I Harold T. Keen,

ANSWERS MRS. ZELDLN
To the Editor of " The Woman's Page:
' I find myself compelled to reply to Mrs. Esther Zeldin's letter as published in THE CANADIAN JEWISH NEWS of October 5th. I feel this letter must be a gag, for how else can be explained the sentiments expressed therein by any woman, particularly a Jew-i'sh woman of this day and age?
I quote Mrs. Zeldin's last statement: "I shall now give up culture, music, art, stimulating books and go back to the little world that the majority of suburban Jewish women seem to prefer . . " She goes on to imply that all we are interested in is "cooking and wa'shing diapers." Where, in heaven's name.
, has this lady been hiding all j these years? It sounds to me as though she has been living behind closed doors for years, without radio, T.V. or a telephone. How else can you ex^ ! plain the necessity for putting I an ad into a newspaper to try to find women to form a club I with the same aspirations for ^ the lovely things that make life worth living, for example, [music, art, culture?
Have you ever heard of the , B'Nai B'rith Women's organi-|zation? It is the oldest international Jewish Service organization in the world, founded over one hundred and fifteen years ago by a small group of men in New York City. It's purpose, at the time, was to help the needy Jewish immigrant families.
There are other fine organiza-zations in Toronto: Hadassah, Pioneer Women, Mizrachi. the synagogue sisterhoods and many others.
Dear Mrs. Zeldin, come out of the kitchen and into the world around you. Marsha Spencer, 778 Briar Hill Avenue
