For a lor»g time, now, we hove been subfocted to lecturn ond articles concerninffHiie innocent mole. One is continuously being warned not to cause her husbond much excitement, h« moy hove on apoplectic fit;-not to feed him too well, he-moy develop some diseose leoding to heart failure; not to pressure him too much, the strain could kill him. Weil, how obout us? Don't wt hove ifeclings?
There isn't a wife who doesn't strlv« to make her husband hoppy. Sure, she wants this, needs that. When she gets it, she'i happy. Thus he's, happy - - - no nagging. Follow me?
Up to o certain point, this theory runs true to form But somewhere along the line, hubby deviotes. Then wifie tiirtjw* up her hands in exasperation ^d moons,-"Why most the mol* nrjind be different^ from anyone else's?" - ~ - -
Recently we refurnished our living room. The show-piece 'm^ the white marble~c6rr>er table. ~
Yesterdoy morning, os, Ned wos dressing I follcwed-bim ,trqm_. room to room to continue our conversation. (God forbkJ, h« ihould,,dress in one room!) In the living room he TaisWTiis foot,- ploced it on the edge of the new toble ond proceeded to lace his shoe. Did I let out o yelp!
"You can't find another spot for your big hoof? It's a new table. I'm not getting another one tomorrow. Yh'ro the ont who's beily-oching about the price!" I could hove continued Indefinitely.
Unabashed my beloved cooly remarked, "Ba ghd I'm all right. The doctor said that if I could rais« rny kg* thot high, my muscles ore in good shape."
Go be mod!
The morning newspoper was awaiting Nad, along with hh breokfost.
"Did you read whot happened between the Red Wings and the Boston Bruins?" he queried. "Thot I should read too?" I asked,
"Well, then, don't tell me you're well-read," he retorted. "Look, smartie, who's Dorothy Kiigallen? Who's Ann Lond-ders? Who is Dear Abby?" "I don't know."
"Then don't soy you'r* well-read."
One day, when I shell become good and angry, I'll jnver,
0 device ottoched to every cigar, cigarette or pipe which will dissolve ashes in thin oir. Thot will creote o sensotlon greoter thon the atom bomb.
It hardly motters if I line Ned's path with ash troys. Ashes will olwoys be found on the carpets. It doesn't matter that hijgh receptocles, almost the size, of cuspidors, ore placed in strategic spots. If my better half is considerate, I'll find ashes spilling out of little ash troys, slopping the surface of any toble.
How many times I've wished for a tiny, tiny fire in order to teach him a lesson. But thot's cutting my nose to spite my foce
I could conjure up a million things Ned does to moke my blood pressure rise. Nevertheless I'll let you in on something.
1 wouldn't change him for the world Just let him go on o business trip for one week, then life becomes monotonous, I become dull, the children ore unmonogeoble, the house doesn't have thot lived-in look and I can borely woit till he comes home
So, there!
