As a result of all contributions received on the occasion of this year's Negev Dinner, another Nachlat has been purchased and another major step has been taken in the heroic task for pushing Israel's desert wastelands ever southward.
Many Torontonians who will participate in the forthcoming J.N.F. Tour to Israel in March will be able to visit this area. They will witness with pride the tangible re-suits of their work on behalf of Israel.
A highlight of the Novem-; ber 27th occasion was the I announcement that six To-' ronto faihilies have subscribed six miles of trees in Israel in honor of Mr. Feldt. They are: Mr. and Mrs. Wilferd Gordon, Mr. Albert Riman, Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Silver, the - Samuer Wortsman Family, Rabbi and Mrs. David Monson and Itche Meyer Korolnek and Family, inscribed by son Herb KaroU of Chicago.
Chairman of the SAMUEL FELDT Negev Dinner was Mr. Lcqn E. Weinsten. Guest artist was Cantor. Leibele Waldman of ,N6w York whose moving renditions of cantorial and folk melodies drew enthusiastic response from the large audience.
, Special greetings were brought by .-Mr. Leon Pape, Toronto J N.F. President; Mr. Meyer W. Gasner, President, Canadian Jewish. Congress (Central Division); Mr. Louis L. Lockshin, Ontario J.xM.F. Presi.dent; Rabbi Charles Bender, National J.N.F. Chairman. The presentation.to Mr. Feldt was made by Rabbi David Monson of Beth Sholom Congregation, where Sam Feldt Has" sen'ed as president.
