UN Young Readers' Contest On; Essays To Appear Soon
Entries for The Canadian Jewish News Young Readers Writing Contest are now
being received, and will be published in the paper soon.
The contest, open to readers in the 10 to 16-year-old age bracket, is based on the theme, "Should we have lavish parties?". Referring specifically to the extravagant Bar Mitzvahs, Bat Mitzvahs Sweet Sixteen parties etc.

• Larry Storch relates: "A couple of fortune tellers watched a recent snow storm, and one said, 'You know, this reminds me of the winter of 1974.'"
