RESUMES SEASON'S
A special note prevailed at the Sabbath Services last week at ADATH ISRAEL SYNAGOGUE as the Congregation welcomed back campers and vacationers and gave thanks for the blessings of the summer. Special pravers were offered and CANTOR MURRAY NIXON assisted by the Choir officiated. Rabbi ERWIN SCHILD'S sermon included some reflections on his summer Visit to the Touro Synagogue in Newport, R.I.

RABBI ERWIN SCHILD attended the Herbert Lehman Conference on "The Moral Implications of the Rabbinate" at the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York.
ADATH ISRAEL U.S.Y.
The veteran chapter 'Ruach' of Adath Israel opened its first meeting of the year under the chairmanship ot Alan Appelbaum this year's president, on Sunday September 9th. A typically dynamic U.S.Y. "Rally was featured during the evening. The chapter has decided to devote their full energies to Building Spiritual Bridges project of U.S.Y. This campaign supported by U.S.Y.'ers all over North America has as its goal the building ot a student's dormitory at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
"Tikva" chapter of U.S.Y. invites all teenagers between 13-15 to join their opening rally on Sunday September 16th 7 p.m. in the Brother-

INSTOUU FOR SOCIAL WORKERS
The first in the new series of annual Jewish Community Services Institutes for professional socicd workers, teachers and other communal workers will take place on Friday, September 21st at the Northern Branch Y.M. • Y.W.H.A., it was announced by Bernard Berger, Chairman of the Planning Committee.
The Institute will be led by Maurice Bernstein, Director of Community Planning of the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds in New York, under the general heading "The Jewish Community in Transition" | with special emphasis on problems created by the impact of the ambient culture on the Jewish community.
This series will afford opportunities for professional workers from different fields to discuss mutual problems resulting from rapid changes in recent years.

Adath Israel's Pre-U.S.Y. program for youngsters 10-13 will commence immediatly following the holdays on Sunday afternoon October 28th at 2:30 p.m. Mrs. Raizell Rablnowitz, (daughter of Mr. Kalmen Berger CJN board member) will coordinate the activities as well as act advisor to a group of talented young leaders of Adath Israel's Leadership U.S.Y. Institute.
"Atid" the new United Synagogue college age group has resumed this years activities under the leadership of Eddie Troisier its president. Rabbi E. Schild is their advisor. A city wide "Atid" conference in November has been planned.
Sunday morning activities for Adath Israel's teenagers will include a rich program of religious, social and cultural activities through the medium of the Bar Mitzvah club. Mr. Stephen Speizman. president, and the High
School Extension. Both these activities are advised by Sid Goldenberg.

AMNUAl NER ISRAEL DINHER THIS SUNDAY
The day after Labour Day, some seventy-nine young men arrived at the Ner Israel Ye-shiva College of Toronto. With the exception of 4 students, they are all from this city. Fredericton New Brunswick, Montreal, Sudbury and Hamilton are represented at the Yeshiva with one student each. Thirty-two new students are enrolled in Grade 10, with the other forty-seven students in Grades 11 and 12. There is also a contingent of senior students sent here by the Rosh Hayeshiva from Baltimore to give this school the authentic Yeshiva flavour.
All this growth and expansion has created many problems. Space is at a premium. A prefab was acquired to serve as a Beth Hami-drash in which the entire student body can gather for
