In 1931 Mr. Koufmon Joined the McCoul Street Synagogue and within a few short years, ofter working on and chairing mony committees, he rose to President — o post he held successfully for ten yeors.
In 1952 he wos one of the leading figures working towards and achieving the omol-gomotion of the former Beth Homidrosh HogOdol (McCoul Street Synagogue) and Goel Tzedec Congregation to form the present Beth Tzedec Synagogue, which wos dedicated in 1955. He served the congregation selflessly ond with distinction as 1st Vice-President, 1955-58; OS Chairmen of the Boord of Governors, 1958-60; os President, 1960-62. He is ot present Chairmen of the Building Expansion Committee.
Mr. Koufmon is ocHva In the United Jewish Appeol (he was Chairman of the Heavy. Industry Division) ond the United Jewish Welfare Fund. He i» on executive member of the Zionist Organization of Canada and 0 leader in the Canadian Jewish Congress. He is a member of the Boord of Overseers of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, a project in which he is ardently interested. He is presently a member of the Survey on Jewish Education, os well as on the Boord of the Associated Hebrew Schools.
He is owner and President of Koufmon Metol Compony and Toronto Refiners ond Smelters Company.

The Jewish Vocational Service conducts vocational counseling, training, rehdbilitotion and plocement programs ond has been serving residents of all, faiths and nationolities in Metropolitan Toronto since 1947. The ogerKy is o member of the United Appeal and a constituent member of the United Jewish Welfore Fund of Toronto.
Mr. Sprockmon is president of the Advisory Board of the Hillel Foundotion at the University of Toronto ond a memljer of the Board of Governors '1 B'noJ B'rith. He is 0 post president of Empire Lodge B'noi B'rith and the Toronto Co-ordinating Committee of B'noi B'rith.
Mr. Sprockman succeeds Marvin Fremes, a property management executive with Principal Investments Ltd., who completed o two year term of office-Other new officers ore Robert Hall, senior vice-president; David Mouckley and Barrie D. Rose, vice-presidents; Monny Rotmon, treasurer; and Horry J. Woisgloss, secretary.
