German Play In Israel
HAIFA (JCNS) - Four members of the Schauspielhaus of Zurich arrived here this week for a tour of Israel with their production of the "Dance of Death". The players, under the auspices of the Haifa Theatre, will perform in German, and appear eight times in Haifa, seven in Tel Aviv and once in Jerusalem.
The Zurich arti.sts, Walter Richter and Gert Wcstphal and actress Kaethe Gold and Regime Mueller, won a Europtan reputation in the 1930s when their theatre became the only free stage of the German language in Europe, after the best of Germany's actors and directors fled from Nazis Germany. They performed in Zurich plays banned in Germany.

Judy Garland Back
An important event in the entertainment world of To^ ronto is the return engagement of Judy Garland at O'Keefe Centre the week of February 8th. the last time she was here, she caused a near-riot.
An international celebrity, she has won in the past eleven years two Oscar nominations, three Emrny nominations, a gold record and Grammy Awards in 1961 for her hit album, Judy at Carnegie Hall.
Nipsey Russell, well known Negro comedian, and the Allen Brothers, dancers, will appear with Miss Garland.
The Deputy Breaking Records
Indications are that The Deputy, Rolf Hochhuth's most talked about play, will continue at the Crest Theater longer than anticipated. The presentation may go beyond the deadline date of February 6th.
Meanwhile, calls are coming in pro and con, providing plenty of food for thought.
Laugh With Gertrude Berg
This week Gertrude Berg is at the Royal Alexandra where she will star for four weeks in Leonard Spigel-glass' comedy. Dear Me, The Sky Is Falling.
Miss Berg appears as Libby Hirsch, the meddling but loving mother who feels its necessary to take on all her family's problems and deal nwith them personally. So what happens? Mostly you roll on the aisles watching Mama extricate herself from a series of hilarious situations.
Appearing with Mrs. Berg are Roger be Koven. Michael Baselson. Mary-Robin Redd, Jonathan Morre, Estelle 0-mens, Paul Vincent, Berta Gersten, Mimi Randolph, Mary Engel, Dorothy Levine, Sanford Seeger. Herman Shumlin directs.
