The weather was fine and the fact that the holiday this year fell oh a weekend helped to bring large spirited crowds to the services.
A special room was set aside for the Sephardic worshippers from central Asia.
Chief Rabbi YahudaL.Le-vine conducted the services.
In Moscow there are only two synagogues for the population of three-hunred thousand Jews.

Fear a i Soviet deal
A sizeable number of Israelis fear that President Nixon might come to an arrangement with the Russians at Israel's expense, accord-hig to a nationwide poll conducted by Mr. Rafael E. GUI, the director of Porl (Public Opinion Research of Israel Ltd.) for the JCNS.
A total of 11.9% were certain that this could happen and another 30% said it might happen, but 45.7% did not believe that President Nixon would take such a step, while 12.4% expressed no opinion^
It was also believed by 26.8% of the population that relations between Israel and the United States would not be as good during President Nixon's term of office as they were durtag that of President Johnson.
On the other hand, 10.6% said they believed that Israel-US relations were today even better. Nearly half (49.5%) were of the opinion that there would be no change in the relations between the two countries. i ■
The organization openly warned the Arabs to cease threatening Jews with terror unless they will have to take their own medicine. In Israel the daily newspaper Da-var which speaks for the majority Labor Party stated that if Arabs continue hi-discrlminatenerror against civilians they should remember that terror is a two-way street and that their own civilian population hi Arab capitals could taste the same medichie.
