J'wo young Arabterrorists-have aqhieved the biggest political success in the history of the anti-Israel terrorist campaign by forcing the Austrian government to yield to their political demands.

JERUSALEM (JTA) -
The late President Lyndon B. Johnson and President Nixon before he took office in 1969, expressed the view to close associateis that Israel would be foolish to give up East Jerusalem after the 1967 Six Day War.
The Israeli government was informed of those views by undisclosed sources and based its policies in East Jerusalem on that information, according to Jerusalem - A City Without Walls, by Uzi Benziman, which will be published shortly by the Schocken Publishing Co.
Johnson expressed his opinion to close advisors while in office and Nixon spoke about this issue before his first inauguration but Israel knew he would stick to his view eiveh after^ wards, Benziman says.
Benziman is a member of the staff of Haaretz and is one of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency correspondents in Jerusalem. His book, relating the story of united Jerusalem since 1967, is based on two years of research, interviews with some 130 people including government and military officials and Arab notables, and access to classified documents.
Benziman also discloses that Pope Paul VI refused to sign a pact with Israel to define the istatus of the Chris-. tian communities in the Holy Land because, as he sa:id in a message to President Zal-man Shazar, Israel is a state without boundaries.
Four cabinet ministers opposed the annexation of East Jerusalem -Mordechai Bentov and Israel Barzilai of Mapam and the late Zalman Aranne and Eliyahu Sasson, of the Labor Party, while. "Premiei"; Levi Eshkol himself strongly supported the step, Benziman says.
a radio broadcast that Austria would restrict transit facilities for Jewish emigrants and close down the transit centre at Schoenau Castle near Vienna. The castlehas so far served as a refugee centre run by the Jewish Agency, for 70,000 Soviet Jews emigrating to Israel since February, 1971.
The decision, which took everyone by surprise - not only Austrian officials, but also Arab diplomats and Israelis and the two terrorists - has sparked a controversial debate in Austria, Israeli Ambassador Yitzhak Patish, who had followed the dramatic events at Vienna Airport throughout the night from the Austrian ministry of interior, said in a statement: "This is the first time in the history of Arab terrorism that terrorists have obtained political concessions."
Patish, who was summoned home by the Israeli government for further consultations, added: "The Austrian government's decision strikes a severe blow, not only at Austrian-Israeli relations, but at all humanity. How can yon supporj Sak- i harov's struggle and protest over AUende's fall and yet stop the emigration of fleeing refugees."
Sinion Wiesenthal, director of the Jewish Documentation Centre in Vienna, criticized the decision by the Austrian government saying it could only lead to more terrorism. He called the promise to close iSchoenau "A direct violation of the United Nations convention on refugees."
The terrorist attack was the firist time the Israeli-Arab conflict had come to the tiny Alpine republic. The drama began, according to police sources," Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia, 40 miles from Vienna, before the Chopin Express - the Moscow-Vienna express - crossed at noon to the Austrian border town of Marchegg; In Bratislava", the two terrorists identified as Mustafa Aouei-dan, 25, and Mahmoud Kha-Idi, 27, boarded the train.
As two Austrian customs officials entered the compartment, they pulled out their machine guns and opened fire, A Czech train engineer was wounded. According to eye witnesses, the two Arabs then took five Jewish emigrants, but a young woman and her child managed to escape later.
Thirty-seven Jewish emi^ grants from the Soviet Unioit were on the train.

For Israel's Aircraft Industry, (lAI) it's up, up and away into black

TELAViy-
It's "up and away" into the . black in the financial [ ledgers df the Isniel Aircraft Industry (lAI) which is eiq[)orting: localIy-ma:de planesT and air-to-air mis^ siles to most points of the compass.
The exact destinations of the weaponry and some ajT: craft is a tightly guarded secret for political reasons but lAI's export sales accounted for $20 million of the $22 million gross profit in the year 1972/73. lAI President Al Schwimmer told newsmen here. The past fiscal year was the best in lAl's 20-year history and prospects for 1973/74 are even brighter.
Total turnover for the past year was $190 million, nearly twice the previous year's take.
The Westwind executive jet - which has a $900,000 price • tag - is being sold: briskly with 15 of the 18 Westwinds being made this year. already being spoken for. Westwind production in the next 12 months is so far planned at 22 of which 18 will go to the U.S. Atlantic division.
The jet also came out on
top in an elimination contest to see who gets an $82 million contract from the U.S.. coastguard. The: Westwind was up against Cessna's Citation in the final stages of the game, Schwimmer-said.

on fixed prices, Schwimmer said and were up to one-third below what foreign companies would have taken for the same jobs.
The majority of work done for the defence ministry does not involve supplying aircraft but falls in other "unspecified" fields.
Orders for the Gabriel sea-to-sea missile .already total $40 million and Schwimmer expects this figure to be doublied within a few years. No figures were given on prodiiction or sales of the ultra-sophisticated Shafrir air-to-air missile which has been credited with the downing of "a good few" Arab warplanes.
As far as the Arava STOL turboprop goes, this plane apparently presented a few problems which have since l>een ironed out and so far 14 have been sold overseas, whether in civilian or military form, was not reported.
Grants for city's elderly
NEW YORK (JTA)-
Five Jewish community agencies are among eight in New York City which have received city grants to establish and ope rate additional senior citizens centres as part of a new program of neighborhood-based facilities initially announced last April. Mayor John V. Lindsay announced the additional grants.
The centres in the new program augment the services of existing senior citir zen centres operated by the city's Human Resources Administration, the super-agency for welfare and poverty programs. Since April, 53 senior citizens centres
have been opened in the new program, with more than 20 under direct Jewish sponsorship, according to Dr. Marvin Schick, consultant to the mayor.
Each cientre receives a maximum of $100,000 for operating expenses, plus the cost of renting the facility. The sponsoring organizations receive the funds from city tax revenues. The centres for elderly Jews, like all of the centres planned in the new program, are in communities where census figures identify large numbers of elderly residents Hi. jding services.
The grants are for one year, but it was indicated
they would be renewed on an annual basis. City grants for the additional centres total nearly $700,000.
