JERUSALEM -
A top Israel Bible scholar has bitterly attacked Christian theologians throughout the world for "not taking a stand against Arab aggression."
Prof. David Flusser told a local newsman it was "the minimal task of professional men of God to condemn violent attacks of human beings anywhere.
"Yet," Flusser said, "a-part from the Pope's statements, there has been noth--ing in this spirit reported from Christian leaders."
In relation with his scathing remarks. Prof. Flusser quoted from Revelations (2,3 15-16); "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot; I would thou were it cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarni, and neither cold nor hot, 1 will spew thee out of my mouth."
Not to differentiate between attacker and victim, Flusser said, is the very antithesis of basic Christian ^-morality.
He added that Christianity was now shaking itself "free from medieval trappings" it was obvious to all thinkers that it must seek its roots in Judaisni from which it sprang.
"There are probably many Christian rank and file everywhere who sympathize with Israel," Flusser said, "but unless that sympathy is expressed by Christianity's intellectual leadership, it will be too late. Not for us

in Israel but for Christianity itself."
On the Israeli Christian front, the Greek Catholic Archbishop Josef Rayan declared he was "willing to work with a broom as a clean-rup man if necessary" when he volunteered his help to the Israeli war effort. Archbishop Raya is also busy
recruiting help among his flock. "I pray for our (Israeli) soldiers every day," the isrchbishop added.
The residents of Birim, whose longstanding demand to be permitted to return to their villages in the Gallilee has been championed by Archbishop Rayan, have buried their complaint for the
time being and offered ail help of "people, property and vehicles to our country's security and well-being."
Another report of non-Jews in Israel helping out came from the Moslem courts where Arab Moslem kadis oilered part of their salaries to the war funds now being set up.

of social services and education. Will the. Liberals tone down their' demands for adding noin - sectarian prdgra m -ing in Jewish agencies, and will the '"French-mainly" policy in Jewish education be-i-educed?
Charles jlronfman, president of the inulti-million dol-l lar health,' social service, " and- cultural organization, Allied Jewish Community Services, said there should be ho confusion between cultural independence and economic independence, as the, government favors cultural dissimilarities.
He indicated there would likely be no backsliding in the social and cultural programing the Bourassa government has maintained •since 1970.
, Bronfman, a careful analyst, who has had frequent ■contact with the government during the implementation of the new health and social services laws in the Jewish sector, said: "The mandate is a vindication of their social and welfare programing, and we are going to have to work with the government and the social service as best we can in the circumstances. "
According to Saul Hayes, executive vice-president of the Canadian Jewish Congress, the government will continue their French component policy in Jewish education. He said Bourassa will have to look to the future for the next French vote and be responsive to the cultural aspirations of the Quel)ecois."
"The bride is looking too good," said Hayes, "and the
Liberals don't want to be; accused of railroading or being obliyioius to the cultural . promises they have made."
In early November, the Canadian Jewish Congress
will be meeting with Quebec education officials to discuss the government's linguistic policy -as it effects Jewish education pn the island, AJCS President: Bronfman
told- The Canadian Jewish News thatthe longterm advantages pr the election are clear, Separatism has been dispelled, and the PQ has been rejectied as a viable alternative for the left.

Anglo-Israeli relations are war victim
By CHARLES HYAMS CJN Britain Correspondent
LONDON-
When the final casualties are announced, one will be missing from the official Israeli list but is as dead as any soldier killed in the actual fighting of, the fourth Arab-Israeli war. The victim is Anglo-Israel relations - ailing since the earlier votes- of censure by Britain on Israel in United Nations debates on the Middle East but dealt a fatal blow when the war was at its height.
Sir Alec Douglas-Home, Britain's foreign secretary, announced to the astonishment of a great many^ieople here and to the bitter anger of everyone in Israel, that he
was refusing to supply spare parts to Israel for Centurion
tanks which Britain sold to Israel a few years ago ahd which were vital to the Israeli war effort. Sir Alecs excuse was that Britain wishes to pursue a policy of "evenhandedness" and did not wish to ••stoke up" the war any further.
The press, the public and even parliament took immediate issue with the foreign secretary, especially as it was known that Britain was still supplying arms to an Arab state - Dubai^ and
was training Egyptian helicopter pilots in Britain. The pressure on the government became so intense that a debate on the issue was held in both Houses ol Parliament.
While the known supporters ol both sides spoke as expected, what was significant was the attitude ot the neutrals. Their line, in a number ot cases, was that whatever the - rights and wrongs ol the Arab-Israeli dispute, a contract to sell arms implied an otjligation to supply the spare parts for them; The leeling ol Israel's
supporters in this country was perhaps best summed up by a lull-page ad Which appeared in The Times the following day. It concluded: •All we ask is that our government will cease to be evenhanded. And start being fair:" jji ■

pilot were scrambled on Yom Kippur at 2 p, m, when an unidentified object wis spot-, ted on radar making for Tel Aviy. They saw it highabpye them, trailing . fire, and thought it was a Mig pn reconnaissance.
Climbing to come closer, the Israeli pilot saw it had no pilot and at once reatizedthe
nature of the object. Getting behind it he let go with his weapons and hit it the first time. Bits began flying off the Kelt but--.fortunately for the pilot — it did not explode in the air but spun down into the sea where it exploded with enormous force creating a massive wave.
