A museum on the site houses interpretive exhibits and a display of artifacts found during

Trails lead from the museum through the mound —complex, where trailside displays have been arranged. The large temple moiind to the north. 235 feet in length, is an impressive sight. The older temple structure to the south rises some 40 feet and the
refuse midden extends from the south mound for another 400 feet.
More than 450 burials have been found at the site since excavations began in 1903. Some of the artifacts found in the graves indicate trade was c a r r i e d on between Florida Indians a n d' Indians hundreds of miles north.
