What are we to do with our aging parents and grandparents?
In a youth-oriented society, how do we cope with the social, physical and ernotional problems of our elderly?
Much has been written on the subject.
But nobody has done more to provide solutions than the talented professional people and volunteers at the Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care.
They respond vvith love, patience^ concern and a total geriatric care concept that has made the Centre one of the most advanced in the world.
You see it all in The Jewish Home for the Aged, Baycrest Hospital, Baycrest Day Care and in the new Baycrest Terrace complex designed for elderly people
who require only minimal cafe—a place where they can live in dignified independence.
Baycrest is serving our community well.
Today, Baycrest needs the community as never before. _ —
With increasingly greater demands on its facilities, Baycrest s costs are enormous- At the present time,
over 1000 people recei\'e services from the Baycrest - Centre every day and the figureskeep growing.
Baycrest Centre must quickly raise $9.8 million just to cover urgent capital needs. These include the new Terrace residence and Wagman Centre; major renovations to Baycrest Hospital (now 23 years old), and the reduction of its interest debt on government loans and mortgages;
Baycrest has not gone to the community with a major fund-raising campaign since 1961. It delayed its current fund drive for four years in order to accommodate other campaigns. Now Baycrest finds itself in a crisis situation.
For manyofour parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts, Baycrest is making their later years a source of comfort and happiness rather than a time of loneliness and fear
Only through your generous support of the Baycrest Capital Fund Drive can it continue to provide the facilities and high standards of service and care our elderly so richly deserve.
Please. Don't let them down.
