MONTREAL -
The Canadian Zionist Federation recently launched its membership drive under the national chairmanship of N c r i Bloomfield.
"As we approach the end of a year in which we have seen Israel amt Zionism viciously attacked at the UN, at Habitat and other international forums," said Mrs. Bloomfield, "every concerned Jew i'ccogiiizes the need to reaffirm his commitment of- support for Zionism and the state of Israel."
She pointed out that there are many Jews who — although deeply involved, both financially, and spiritually, with Jewish and Israeli causes — have never become de-
clared Zionists. She added tliat in times of crisis Jews proudly wore but-^ tons proclaiming "1 Am A^ Zionist."
"But" she said, "this is not enough. Being a Zionist is more than an emotional reaction to a critical situation or. wearing a button. Being a Zionist meaiis becoming a member of an organization whichjs the voice of Zionism in Canada so that that, voice backed by numbers — will be stronger and more effective."
The CZF membership driyp will go into high gear during the month of October. There are 11 Zionist organizations in Canada, with : the CZF being the umbrella group.' Aiiyone over the age of 18 is urged to join .

TORONTO —
"And you shall inscribe them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.' ■ With these words, the Reena Foundation dedicated its new group home on OrchardView iii the Yonge-Eglinton area.
The Foundation is a growing organization seeking to assist the men-tally handicapped. OrchardView represents
the second group home operated by Reerta. aside from their summer camp near Orangeville. .
Rabbi Joseph Kelman, president of Reenai, officiated over the brief ceremony assisted by Joe Berman. a member of the board, who affixed the first mezuzah. David Smith, executive alderman for Ward 11. was also present. In his remarks, he expressed satisfaction
in Reena's development.
The OrchardView facility is a four-bedroom home that \yill house five "high-functioning" retarded adults. It provides easy access to subway and bus transportation. Two counsellors will be availaible during the evening hours to assist the residents who . otherwise attend sheltered workshops or other community - sponsored programs.
JERUSALEM-
Magen David Adom stations, although manned by a professional staff, rely greatly on volunteers of all ages trained ill all aspects of the MDA emergency medical and blood services.
In 1975. 7,910 volunteers underw'ent training iri Jerusalem. The 345 first aid courses offered by MDA prepared the trainees for assignment to future relief operations in the Jerusalem region, while many of them serve on a regular basis assuming various respohsi-biUties in the daily operation of the MDA station.
The nationwide 73
MDA , first I aid stations co-ordinate their activities with MDA headquarters and the MDA Central Blood Bank in Tel Aviv.
