Bridesmaids' dresses compliment the ieeluig in the bridal gowns. That same softness and (cmininitv is interpreted in delicate fabrics in flower garden hues. Friuts-in-bhjom are just as p(jpular as plains.
Understated elegance is look for the season
This whimsical long self (rain.
gown of snow white organza makes use of yards of delicate ruffles at the neck, yoke and Dainty lace flowers are appliqued at the bodice, hem and skirt. Indeed, a lovely gown.

Four Grade 9 students of the Associated Hebrew Schools In Toronto model clothes in annual fashion show for the UJA. From left are Elise Stern, Tammy Tenenbaum, Rena Lichtblau and. Ira Sankicwicz.
These suits have been selected from the spring/ ^summer 1978 collections of the major clothiers in Europe, North America and Japan. The accent is on the classic tailored look in pure new wool worsted and it is interesting to watch the ever narrowing gap between formal and casual wear.
The look for the season will be one of understated elegance — uncluttered and comfortable to wear. The shoulder line is natural. Many jackets are veiit-less,' have jetted inse.'t rather than, patch pockets and harrow lapels; while
double-breasted jackets are fractionally longer. Trousers arc straight out and in the hifh fashion become narrower at the knee and slightly narrower still at the ankle. More are cut with pleats than without and turn-ups are often seen.
Trends in the three-piece suit and the coordinated jacket and trou-scr outfit focus particular attention on cloth. Suitable cloth designs were given prominence in the Jrfternaiiona) Wool Mens-wear Office forecast for spring '78 and lend them-selvc to these stvlcs. Thev
showed a movement away from stripes into simple checks — either block ' checks or plain Glens.
The trend to crisp cloths and plain weaves predicted by IWMO have been confirmed, as their observation that the new lightweight piirc new wool worsted calls for light colors. Bleached white and ecru are proving lead colors and the bhue area — from silver-grey; blues through [o red-blues — is gainini; in importance. They are supported by all shade.s of brown, camel predominating.
