The Jewish Singles G>ffee House Pins,
sponsored by the JCC, offers live entertainment, refreshments plus use of the gym, pool and locker room. From 8.30-9.30 p.m. there is free swim or fitness class and from 10-11 p.m. there is the coffee house with live entertainment and refreshments. It all takes place at the northern branch of the JCC on the third Saturday of every month, beginning Oct. 15. This is open to all singles. Please bring a towel and a lock. BethTzedee Chaverim (29-49) is having an all-day hike on Sunday, Oct. 16, to the Caledon Hills. This is a 9-mile hike along Bruce and Albion Hills trails. Jewish Singles Project Connect telephone line is staffed by volunteers Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. offering all kinds of information and referrals to Jewish singles. MAX GOULD HAS DONE IT AGAIN
Max and Sylvia Gould have just returned from San Juan where Max competed in the fifth World Masters Track and Field Games for athletes 40 years of age and older. The games drew moire than 1,200 athletes from all over the world.
Max competed in the 5-km and 20-km race walks, getting a gold medal in both events. Acutally, he has competed in each of the five World Masters race walks, obtaining gold medals each time.
HONORED BY AMERICAN GROUP
Lillian Messinger, chief social worker of the social and community psycihiatry department of Clarke Institute of Psychiatry, has been elected as a Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Mrs. Messinger, who was elected to honor by the honors committee and board of directors of the association, was recognized for her significant contribution in the field of marital and family therapy.
The presentation was made at an awards ceremony at the organization's international conference in Washington on Oct. 7.
GAVE PAPER AT CONFERENCE
While on the subject of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy .another Torontonian made his mark at the conference in Washington. YosI Derman, a social worker at Jewish Family & Child Service, was chosen to deliver his paper^ The Making of a Parent, during the sessions.
, Mr. Derman earned an MSW degree from the Wurzweiller School of Social Work at Yeshiva Universtiy and has taken special training in marriage and family therapy. In addition, he is in private practice.
