A weekly newspaper published in Vancouver by John P. McConnell and R.S. Ford, the B.C. Saturday Sunset was first printed on June 15, 1907. The Saturday Sunset offered articles relating to life in Western Canada and business, political and social events and issues, of both local and national significance, as well as fiction and humour pieces. Under McConnell’s editorship, until it was taken over in 1911 by the Burrard Publishing Company, the paper had Liberal leanings. The Saturday Sunset’s last issue was published on July 17, 1915. Issues dating from 1907 to 1915 have been digitized and are made available here.
